Five Star replaced the 1.5 million BTU aging boiler system for Pioneer Balloon by installing three 500 thousand BTU boilers, providing better turn down rations, great efficiency and built-in redundancy. This configuration allows for the continued heating capacity in the event of one of the boilers failing. In addition, we completed a Reliable Controls Direct Digital Controls (DDC) retrofit of the building automation system. The DDC system consisted of over 57 HVAC, BACNET compatible controllers and a complete door access control system. The DDC controls utilize a simple web-based interface, affording Pioneer Balloon an easy and efficient way of monitoring and controlling the facility.
